I enjoyed my ONAM in Kerala, aftera gap of 25 years. Staying with my brother and family -had a great time. Arranging the flowers for the daily ritual of making "pookkalam" and then placing the idols " mathevars" , doing the poojas thrice a day brought back memories of my childhood. What a miss for the new generation brought up in the concrete jungles of metros!
The different varieties spread out on the plantain leaf for the onam sadya, the delicious payasams and nenthram kaya chips- wow.. a experience to relish.
During this week had attended two weddings, met lot of relatives and childhood friends, exchanging old memories.
Decided to repeat this holiday every year.........
